Tinubu’s Daughter Warns Nigerians Against Voting for Atiku and Peter Obi in 2027

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s daughter, Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, has urged Nigerians not to vote for former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election.

Tinubu-Ojo, who is the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, reportedly warned that electing either opposition politician could take the country backwards and reverse what she described as the gains recorded under her father's administration.

Why Tinubu's Daughter Mentioned Atiku and Peter Obi

She made the remarks on Thursday, October 29, 2026, during the inauguration of the Iyaloja General Movement for Renewed Hope Initiatives at Eagle Square in Abuja.

The movement was established to mobilise market women, traders and other grassroots supporters across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to reports, the group has structures across the 36 states, local government areas and wards, with a target of mobilising 10 million votes for President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Tinubu-Ojo described market women and men as an important voting bloc, noting that their influence at the grassroots could play a significant role in determining the outcome of the next election.

Tinubu's Daughter Defends Father's Economic Policies

While defending the economic policies of the Tinubu administration, she acknowledged that many Nigerians were experiencing hardship but insisted that the policies would eventually produce positive results.

She compared the current economic situation to a pregnant woman going through labour, suggesting that the country was experiencing temporary pain before the expected benefits.

She reportedly said:

"What he is doing right now is like a pregnant woman going through labour. We are labouring now. Almost all Nigerians are feeling what he is doing now. The policies are painful, but the end result will justify the means."

She also defended the removal of the petrol subsidy, arguing that the additional revenue available to the three tiers of government had helped fund projects and meet financial obligations.

2027 Presidential Election: Political Tension Builds

Her comments come as political activities and mobilisation efforts begin to intensify ahead of Nigeria's 2027 presidential election.

With the ruling APC seeking another term for President Tinubu, opposition politicians, including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, remain prominent figures in discussions about the country's political future.

Whether Nigerians will support the ruling party or choose an opposition candidate in 2027 will ultimately be determined by voters at the ballot box.

What do you think about Tinubu-Ojo's warning to Nigerians? Do you agree that voting for Atiku or Peter Obi would take Nigeria backwards?</p>
