  A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has sentenced Garuba Mohammed Duku, a former Director of Finance and Administration with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), to 24 years in prison over a massive ₦318 million fraud. The court, presided over by Justice A.O. Ebong, found Duku guilty on six counts of corruption and money laundering linked to funds belonging to the Abuja Metropolitan council According to the prosecution, Duku — during his tenure between 2012 and 2013 — diverted public funds totaling ₦318 million meant for FCTA operations into private accounts for personal use.
