Kwara Police Arrest Three Suspected Kidnap Syndicate Members, Hunt for Alleged Gang Leader

The Kwara State Police Command has reportedly arrested three suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate allegedly linked to several abduction incidents across the state.

The arrests followed a joint security operation involving police officers and Forest Guards, according to reports attributed to the police.

Suspect Arrested in Ilorin

The operation reportedly began on October 24, 2026, when a suspect identified as Aliyu Isiaka was arrested in the Okolowo area of Ilorin.

According to the police account, Isiaka was intercepted wearing female clothing and a hijab. He was also reportedly carrying a bag containing assorted charms.

During questioning, Isiaka allegedly confessed to being a member of a nine-man kidnapping gang said to be led by a suspect identified as Juli, who remains at large.

The claims remain allegations, and the suspects have not been convicted of any crime.

Two More Suspects Arrested

Further investigations reportedly led security operatives to raid a suspected camp belonging to the alleged gang on October 25, 2026.

The operation resulted in the arrest of two additional suspects identified as Seriki and Jebrin, bringing the total number of suspects arrested in connection with the investigation to three.

The police reportedly said investigations were continuing and that the suspects would be arraigned in court after the process was concluded.

Authorities are also reportedly pursuing the alleged gang leader, identified as Juli.

Police Promise Continued Crackdown on Kidnapping

The Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Ojo Adekimi, reportedly reaffirmed the command's commitment to tackling kidnapping and other criminal activities.</ p>

He said the police would continue to conduct intelligence-led operations and collaborate with other security agencies to identify and dismantle criminal networks operating across the state.

The collaboration between the police and Forest Guards is part of the reported efforts to strengthen security operations and address kidnapping concerns in affected communities.

Conclusion

The reported arrests represent another security operation targeting suspected kidnapping networks in Kwara State. However, the allegations against the suspects must be established through the appropriate judicial process.</p>

Residents are encouraged to report credible information about suspicious activities to the relevant security agencies while avoiding the spread of unverified claims.

Note: The investigation is reportedly ongoing, and the suspects should be regarded as innocent unless proven guilty by a court of law.
