🔥 TERROR FINANCIERS EXPOSED? Why the Nigerian Government Says Sponsors Cannot Be Named Publicly — Rep. Jimi Benson Speaks
Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Defence, Hon. Jimi Benson, has revealed why the Federal Government cannot publicly expose or prosecute individuals financing terr0r!sm in Nigeria — despite growing public pressure amid rising insecurity.
According to him, the identities of these financiers cannot be made public for security reasons, noting that many of them operate locally and internationally, making the matter highly sensitive.
Benson explained that while Nigerians may feel the government is silent, intense tracking, arrests, and prosecutions are ongoing behind the scenes — in collaboration with international partners.
“The sponsors of terr0r!sts cannot be tried in public. The public cannot know who they are because of security. Some of them are local, some international. A lot of them can’t think of financing anybody anymore. The government is working, tracking, and prosecuting these people with international help to bring them to book,” Benson stated.
His comments come as public outrage grows over continuous banditry, kidnappings, and attacks across the country, with many citizens demanding full disclosure of those backing violent groups.
Security analysts, however, argue that secrecy may be necessary to avoid jeopardizing active intelligence operations.
