VeryDarkMan: Activist or Business Frustrator? Separating Fact from Rumors

VeryDarkMan (real name Martins Vincent Otse) is a Nigerian social media influencer and activist known for his outspoken stance on corruption, business ethics, and youth empowerment. He has gained attention for criticizing unethical business practices and pushing for systemic reforms.

Despite rumors circulating online, there is no credible evidence that he ever said he would “frustrate Nigerian businesses and teach them how to treat customers well” in those exact words.

VeryDarkMan launched a monthly nationwide sanitation project called the Ratel Movement, starting on November 29, 2025.

The initiative is designed to move his activism from social media to real-world community engagement.

He has been approached by Chinese manufacturers to facilitate business deals for Nigerian entrepreneurs.

VeryDarkMan declined personal profit, emphasizing his goal of helping Nigerian business owners access fair and legal partnerships.

Recently, he led a protest in Auchi against Dangote trucks until the company compensated accident victims.

This action demonstrates that his goal is not to “frustrate businesses” arbitrarily, but to hold companies accountable when they harm citizens.

He was detained by the EFCC in May 2025 and publicly challenged the agency over seized devices that curtailed his activism and ability to connect with entrepreneurs.

VeryDarkMan criticizes unethical business practices and pushes for better customer treatment.

He connects Nigerian entrepreneurs with business opportunities, advocating fair practices.

He intends to “frustrate Nigerian businesses” deliberately — there is no verified statement confirming this.

Some business owners disagree with him and claim his methods are disruptive, but these are specific disputes, not proof of a general “frustration campaign.”

VeryDarkMan’s activism is focused on ethical reform, customer advocacy, and entrepreneur empowerment. Misleading rumors have exaggerated his message into a claim that he wants to harm Nigerian businesses. In reality, his goal appears to be systemic change, accountability, and helping Nigerian entrepreneurs succeed.
