In a major breakthrough for Nigeria’s ongoing fight against insecurity, the Nigerian Army has announced that its troops successfully crushed several terrorist cells and rescued multiple kidnapped victims in a series of rapid operations carried out within 24 hours across the country.
According to an official statement released by the Army and reported by Vanguard and The Guardian, troops conducted coordinated raids on terrorist hideouts across the North-East, North-West, and North-Central regions. During the operations, 17 terrorists were neutralized, 85 suspects arrested, and 10 kidnapped victims rescued.
Military sources revealed that the operations also led to the destruction of several terrorist camps, recovery of sophisticated weapons, and disruption of supply routes used by criminal gangs. The Army emphasized that these successes are part of its intensified nationwide offensive aimed at restoring peace and safety in rural communities long plagued by insurgents and bandits.
The Chief of Army Staff commended the troops for their bravery and assured Nigerians that the military remains “fully committed to dismantling all terrorist networks and securing every inch of the nation’s territory.”
This latest victory comes amid renewed calls from citizens for stronger security measures and improved intelligence sharing across agencies to permanently end insurgency and banditry in the country.
