NDLEA Chairman Vows Tough Crackdown on Drug Barons in Second Term

 


Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd), reappointed as the NDLEA Chairman for a second five-year term, has pledged an aggressive approach against drug barons and traffickers across Nigeria.

In his first term, Marwa made significant strides in drug enforcement, rehabilitation, and awareness campaigns. With his new tenure, he promises that traffickers and drug cartels who continue illegal activities will face “hell and bleak consequences.” The NDLEA will intensify arrests, seizures, and asset confiscation, sending a clear message that the fight against narcotics will be uncompromising.

Beyond enforcement, Marwa plans to expand rehabilitation and prevention programs, ensuring that every Nigerian state has access to drug treatment and recovery centers. He also intends to implement mandatory drug tests for tertiary students, aiming to curb the spread of drug abuse among the youth.

As the NDLEA intensifies its efforts, communities, families, and law enforcement agencies are being urged to support the fight against illicit drugs and help protect Nigeria’s youth from the dangers of narcotics.
