Tension Mounts as Nigeria’s Security Chiefs Hold Emergency Meeting Over Donald Trump’s Military Threat

IPOB Mobilizes for Mass Protest in Washington D.C. to Oppose Tinubu’s Delegation

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced plans to hold a massive peaceful protest in Washington D.C., United States, in response to what it describes as ongoing injustice and alleged genocide against Biafrans in Nigeria.

In a statement released by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, IPOB called on all “Judeo-Christians and Biafrans in the United States” to converge on Washington D.C. to demonstrate against a high-level Nigerian government delegation reportedly heading to the U.S. for official engagements.

According to IPOB, the protest aims to counter what it calls the government’s “attempt to rewrite the narrative” about human rights abuses and ethnic violence in Nigeria. The group insists that despite government denials, “innocent people are still bleeding and suffering.”

The movement urged its supporters to ensure a peaceful, organized, and “unstoppable display of conscience,” stressing that the world must hear the cries of the oppressed.

While reports of the planned protest have circulated widely online, there has been no confirmation yet from U.S. authorities or major media outlets about official permits or the expected turnout.

The Nigerian government has not issued an official response to the latest call by IPOB, which remains a proscribed organization under Nigerian law.
