FCT Police Commissioner Assures Abuja Residents of Improved Security Amid Rising Concerns

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Commissioner, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has reassured residents of Abuja of the command’s renewed commitment to enhance security and protect lives and property across the nation’s capital.

Speaking during a recent briefing, the Commissioner emphasized that the FCT Police Command has intensified its operations against infrastructure vandals, criminal gangs, and suspected bandits who have attempted to infiltrate some suburbs of Abuja.

Disu noted that the command has strengthened community policing initiatives and improved collaboration with local vigilantes to ensure early detection of security threats. “Abuja remains safe, and we are working around the clock to maintain peace and order,” he said.

Meanwhile, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike also echoed similar assurances, stating that the federal capital is secure and that new security strategies are being deployed to sustain the city’s safety and stability.

However, despite viral social media claims suggesting that residents “thanked U.S. President Donald Trump” in connection with the improved security, there is no credible evidence to support this. Investigations show that no such event or statement was made publicly by residents or officials.

Security experts have urged the public to rely on verified news sources and avoid spreading unsubstantiated claims that could cause confusion or panic.
