Shock Seizure: NDLEA Intercepts 290,450 Pills in Multi-State Crackdown


 In a major drug enforcement operation in October 2025, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) announced the interception of 290,450 tramadol and pregabalin pills across several Nigerian states. 

Spokesperson Femi Babafemi revealed that in Kano, Lagos, Kaduna, among other locations, operatives broke a syndicate distributing these dangerous drugs. 

🎯Alongside the pill haul, other raids uncovered 6.3 kg of “Loud” cannabis smuggled from Thailand. 

In Lagos, a dealer named John Igbe (“SammyBless”) was arrested, and cannabis, codeine syrup, and other illicit substances were recovered in Mushin and elsewhere. 

In Kwara, 27,700 tramadol pills were seized separately

Kaduna also saw arrests in connection with large-scale skunk seizures. 

says these efforts are part of a sustained crackdown on drug trafficking networks. 

 Tramadol and pregabalin misuse is linked to addiction, overdose, and other health crises.

 The magnitude of this seizure suggests well-organized syndicates operating across states.

 While such raids disrupt operations temporarily, traffickers may adapt or relocate.
