Police Abduction Shakes Kwara: Officer Ezra John Kidnapped by Gunmen in Patigi


 The escalating security crisis in Nigeria has struck again, this time in Kwara State, where an active-duty police officer was violently abducted by suspected terrorists. The incident involving Police Officer Ezra John has sent shockwaves through the local community and highlighted the persistent threat of banditry in the North Central region.

Police Officer Ezra John, who is attached to the Lade Division in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, was abducted in the early hours of Thursday, October 2, 2025.

According to local reports, Officer John was kidnapped along the dangerous Lade-Patigi Road while he was returning from an official duty at the Patigi General Hospital. His motorcycle was reportedly found abandoned by the roadside, a common tactic used by the abductors operating in the area.

The Kwara State Police Command has officially confirmed the abduction. The Command’s spokesperson confirmed that specialized tactical teams have been immediately deployed to the area.

The police have stated they are "not leaving any stone unturned" to ensure the safe rescue of Officer John and the apprehension of the perpetrators.
