In a major victory against crime, the Kaduna State Police Command has intensified its ongoing crackdown on kidnapping, banditry, and armed robbery — leading to the arrest of 523 suspects and the rescue of 102 kidnapped victims.
The operation, which spanned several months, targeted criminal hideouts and notorious flashpoints across the state, demonstrating renewed commitment to restoring peace and security in northern Nigeria.
According to the Kaduna Police Commissioner, the arrests include:
26 suspected kidnappers
12 cattle rustlers
97 phone snatchers
17 car snatchers
10 rape suspects
In addition, the police recovered:
5 AK-47 rifles
2 pistols
1 submachine gun
105 rounds of live ammunition
Hundreds of rustled livestock
These successful operations were carried out through intelligence-led patrols, community engagement, and swift response to distress calls in local government areas such as Giwa, Chikun, Birnin Gwari, and Igabi.
๐ฎThe Police Command credited the success to enhanced collaboration between security agencies and local vigilante groups. The Commissioner also thanked Kaduna residents for their support, urging continued vigilance and timely reporting of suspicious activities.
“Our mission is clear — to dismantle criminal networks, protect lives, and ensure safety for all Kaduna residents,” the Commissioner stated.
Security experts and civil society groups have praised the Kaduna Police for their proactive approach, describing the operation as one of the most successful in recent years.
As kidnappings continue to pose a threat across northern Nigeria, these arrests represent a critical step in breaking the cycle of crime and rebuilding community trust in law enforcement.
The Kaduna Police Command’s crackdown sends a strong message to criminal elements: there’s no hiding place for kidnappers and bandits. With continuous public cooperation, the state moves closer to lasting peace and security.
