🚨 Fugitive Derrick Groves Captured in Atlanta After 145-Day Manhunt for Double Murder

In a dramatic turn of events, Derrick Groves, a convicted double murderer, has been captured in Atlanta, Georgia, after being on the run for nearly 145 days. His arrest marks the end of one of America’s most intense manhunts of 2025.

Groves was among 10 inmates who escaped from the Orleans Parish Justice Center in New Orleans back in May 2025, sparking a massive nationwide search involving the U.S. Marshals Service, FBI, and multiple state agencies.

🚓Law enforcement officials confirmed that Groves was tracked down to a residential property in Atlanta after weeks of surveillance and digital tracing.

He was found hiding in a crawl space beneath a house, where a SWAT team deployed gas and K-9 units to bring him out.

According to AP News and The Guardian, Groves resisted arrest but was eventually subdued without any fatalities. He has since been transferred under heavy security back to Louisiana to face additional charges for his escape.

🔍Groves, previously convicted for a double homicide, escaped alongside nine other inmates in a coordinated breakout that shocked New Orleans authorities.

While most of the fugitives were captured within weeks, Groves managed to evade capture for nearly five months — earning a reputation as one of the most wanted men in the U.S.

His escape reignited debates about prison security, inmate monitoring, and the growing sophistication of jailbreak plots across the country.

The successful capture has drawn praise from law enforcement and relief from communities affected by his crimes.

Officials hailed the operation as a “major breakthrough” in ensuring justice and public safety, while residents expressed gratitude that the ordeal had finally ended.

Social media has since exploded with reactions, with hashtags like #DerrickGrovesCaptured and #JusticeServed trending nationwide.

Groves’ capture underscores one clear message — no matter how long it takes, justice always catches up. His case serves as both a warning to fugitives and a lesson in persistence for law enforcement agencies worldwide.
