Enugu State Shock: Two Boys Attempt to Steal Baby for ₦50,000 in Alleged Abduction Plot

A shocking incident has rocked a residential compound in Enugu State, Nigeria, after two young boys, aged 17 and 10, allegedly broke into their neighbor’s apartment using a spare key. Their motive was reportedly to steal a baby, after confessing that they were promised ₦50,000 by an unidentified individual if they could deliver the child.               According to eyewitness reports, the boys gained unauthorized access through the balcony and entered the home of Micheal Munachi Jennifer, the mother of the baby. They allegedly attempted to carry away the infant by dragging the cot with the baby inside.

The attempt was foiled when they were caught in the act. Upon interrogation, the boys confessed that they were lured into the crime by the promise of quick money. The 17-year-old suspect and the alleged mastermind are currently being held at the army barracks, while the caretaker of the compound has ordered the children’s family to vacate the premises within a week due to safety concerns raised by other tenants.

This disturbing case has sparked widespread outrage across the community, with residents demanding swift justice and stronger security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to unravel the full details of the attempted abduction.
