The Chidinma Ojukwu Case: Beauty, Controversy, and the Long Wait for Justice

⚖️ BREAKING: Court Adjourns Ex-Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello’s ₦110.4 Billion Fraud Case as EFCC Presents More Evidence

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has once again adjourned the ₦110.4 billion fraud case involving former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, following the presentation of fresh evidence by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The case, which has drawn nationwide attention, centers on allegations that Bello diverted over ₦110 billion in public funds during his tenure as governor of Kogi State.

🏛️During the latest court session, the EFCC presented new documentary and witness evidence to strengthen its case. The first prosecution witness, Fabian Nwora, completed his testimony under cross-examination before the adjournment.

Following that, the presiding judge adjourned the matter to give both the prosecution and defense adequate time to review the new submissions and prepare for the next phase of the trial.

📅According to official court documents and EFCC reports, the case has been adjourned to July 8, 2025, with additional hearing dates fixed for:

October 8–9, 2025

November 12–13, 2025

These sittings will continue the examination of witnesses and review of the financial records linked to the alleged embezzlement.

The EFCC alleges that Yahaya Bello and several associates diverted ₦110.4 billion belonging to the Kogi State Government through fake contracts, cash withdrawals, and ghost accounts.

Bello, who served as governor from 2016 to early 2024, has denied all charges, insisting that the case is politically motivated.

The EFCC, however, maintains that it has strong evidence, including bank records and witness statements, tying the former governor to the financial mismanagement.

The news of yet another adjournment has stirred heated reactions online. Many Nigerians are calling for swift justice, while others accuse the political class of manipulating the legal system to delay corruption trials.

“We are tired of endless adjournments. Justice delayed is justice denied,”
