🎉 Breaking: Abducted Abaji School Principal Regains Freedom After Days in Captivity

There’s relief and celebration in Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as the principal of Junior Secondary School Naharati, Mr. Zakari Abdulkadir Yelwa, has finally regained his freedom after being held captive by armed kidnappers.

According to reports from Daily Trust, the principal and his daughter were abducted by gunmen and taken into the forest, sparking widespread panic among residents and teachers in the area.

After several tense days in captivity, Yelwa and his daughter were released on Saturday night, reportedly after the family paid a ransom of about ₦3.1 million.

Speaking after his release, the visibly shaken principal described his ordeal as “life in the kidnappers’ den was hell on earth.” He thanked God, local security operatives, and community members for their prayers and efforts toward their safe return.

News of his release has been met with widespread joy across the community. Teachers and students of Junior Secondary School Naharati have expressed their gratitude for his safe return, while residents continue to call for improved security measures in schools across the FCT to prevent such incidents from recurring.

Security analysts are urging authorities to deploy more personnel to the Abaji area, which has witnessed several cases of abductions and attacks in recent months.

As of now, the FCT Police Command and local authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the ransom payment or arrests of the kidnappers. However, investigations are said to be ongoing.
