BOI Launches N2 Billion Entrepreneurship Programme for NYSC Members: Turning Job Seekers into Job Creators

The Bank of Industry (BOI) has officially launched a N2 billion entrepreneurship programme targeted at National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members across Nigeria. This bold initiative aims to transform young Nigerians from job seekers into job creators, tackling unemployment and fostering youth-led enterprises nationwide.

Programme Highlights

Loan Amount: Up to ₦5 million per beneficiary.

Interest Rate: Single-digit 9% per annum, making it affordable for young entrepreneurs.

Repayment Terms: Repayable over three years with a three-month moratorium on both principal and interest.

Target Beneficiaries: Serving NYSC members across Nigeria.

Objective: Empower youth, stimulate entrepreneurship, and create jobs.

This initiative builds on BOI’s previous collaboration with NYSC, including the Graduate Entrepreneurship Fund (GEF), which trained over 3,000 graduates, financed 609 businesses, and disbursed more than ₦1 billion in loans.

Dr. Olasupo Olusi, BOI’s Managing Director, highlighted the programme as a practical step toward youth empowerment, praising NYSC’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) department for equipping corps members with the tools to become self-reliant.

Interested NYSC members can visit the official BOI website or contact their local NYSC office for eligibility criteria, application procedures, and more details on how to access the funds.

This programme presents a golden opportunity for young Nigerians to launch their own businesses, gain financial independence, and contribute to the nation’s economic growth.
